When you retake CliftonStrengths, you can complete the assessment again in your existing Gallup Access account by using a new access code or email invitation. Both sets of results remain in your account, and you can choose which set of results you want to use as your active strengths profile.
Retake the assessment with an access code
Note: If you don’t have a new access code and want to retake the assessment, you can purchase one from the Gallup Store.
Navigate to the Gallup Access Sign In page.
Enter your existing account credentials to Sign In.
Select Menu on the upper-left corner of the page, then select Redeem Access Code.
Type your new access code and select Redeem Code.
After you redeem the code, Gallup Access displays options. Select Retake Assessment to start your new CliftonStrengths assessment in this same account.
Retake the assessment from an email invitation
If you received an invitation email to retake CliftonStrengths:
In the email, select Get Started.
When prompted, select Sign In and sign in to your existing Gallup Access account.
Follow the on-screen steps to complete your retake.
Make sure you sign in to the same Gallup Access account where you want both sets of results stored.
What happens to your results and reports after a retake
When you retake the assessment:
Your previous results stay in your account.
Your new results are added to the same account.
You can choose which results to use as your active strengths profile.
Report access is based on the type of access code you redeem, not on what you had access to previously.
Example:
You first used a CliftonStrengths 34 access code in your account. You saw all 34 of your strengths and reports based on your full 34 profile.
-
Later, you redeem a Top 5 access code in the same account to retake the assessment.
For your new results, you will see only your Top 5 strengths and reports that are included with a Top 5 code.
If you switch back to your previous strengths in your account (your original results), you will again see your full 34 and any reports that came with your CliftonStrengths 34 code.
Redeeming a new code does not automatically give your new results the same report access you had before. Your available reports always depend on the type of access code (for example, Top 5 vs. CliftonStrengths 34) that you redeemed for those specific results.
Note for Gallup Access administrators and code distributors
If you manage codes for individuals in your organization’s Gallup Access portal and you want someone to retake the CliftonStrengths assessment in their existing account:
You must distribute a hard copy, alphanumeric access code to that individual.
-
The Direct Apply option (available to code distributors in some subscription accounts) does not support retakes.
Individuals cannot use Direct Apply to start a retake of CliftonStrengths in an existing Gallup Access account.
To enable a retake correctly:
Provide the individual with a hard copy access code.
Instruct them to sign in to their existing Gallup Access account.
Ask them to redeem the new code from Menu > Redeem Access Code, then select Retake Assessment.
This ensures the new results are linked to the same account and that report access matches the type of access code you distributed.
