About the assessment

Who is StrengthsExplorer for?

StrengthsExplorer is recommended for children aged 10–14. It is designed as a simpler, age-appropriate strengths assessment with language and themes suited to younger learners.

Note: StrengthsExplorer is not the same as the CliftonStrengths assessment. CliftonStrengths for Students is recommended for individuals aged 15 and older. See the comparison section below for details.

How is StrengthsExplorer different from CliftonStrengths?

StrengthsExplorer and CliftonStrengths are two separate Gallup products. Key differences:

• Age range: StrengthsExplorer is for ages 10–14. CliftonStrengths for Students is for ages 15 and older.
• Themes: StrengthsExplorer uses 10 unique themes. CliftonStrengths uses 34 themes.
• Reports: StrengthsExplorer produces a Top 3 Themes report along with youth-specific resources. CliftonStrengths produces student or professional-centered reports based on 34 themes.
• Platform: StrengthsExplorer codes are redeemed at www.strengthsexplorer.com. CliftonStrengths codes are redeemed through Gallup Access at www.gallup.com/cliftonstrengths.

What are the 10 StrengthsExplorer themes?

After completing the assessment, children receive a Top 3 Themes report based on their responses to the 10 StrengthsExplorer themes of talent:

Buying and redeeming

How do I purchase StrengthsExplorer?

StrengthsExplorer access codes can be purchased through the Gallup Store: Clifton StrengthsExplorer on the Gallup Store

How do I redeem a StrengthsExplorer access code?

Regardless of where a code was obtained (purchased, included with a book, etc.), all StrengthsExplorer codes are redeemed at the same site:

1. Go to the StrengthsExplorer website.
2. Click Redeem Code.
3. Enter the access code and follow the prompts to begin the assessment.

Note: There is no timer on the StrengthsExplorer assessment.

How do I check if a code has been used?

To check the status of an individual access code:

1. Go to the StrengthsExplorer website and click Redeem Code.
2. Enter the code.
3. If the code has not been used, a Take Assessment button will appear.
4. If the code has already been used, the page will display the user’s results and available resources instead.

Viewing results

How do I view a completed StrengthsExplorer result?

To view results and reports for a completed assessment:

1. Go to the StrengthsExplorer website and click Redeem Code.
2. Enter the access code.
3. The page will display the user’s results and the following resources:
