Cascade is a reporting tool to help managers and coaches organize, visualize and analyze the CliftonStrengths of individuals and teams. In this article, administrators can learn how to access Cascade in Gallup Access, understand the main areas of the tool and what they’re used for, and print or save reports.
Access Cascade in Gallup Access
Administrators with a CliftonStrengths subscription can download Cascade from Gallup Access in either of the following ways.
Download a team’s Cascade file
In Gallup Access, go to Menu > CliftonStrengths.
Select Teams.
Find the team you want, and then select View Team.
On the Team Summary tab, scroll to the Downloadable Tools area (lower-left).
Select Export to Cascade.
Download a blank Cascade template
In Gallup Access, go to Menu > CliftonStrengths.
Select Resources.
In the Download Cascade area, select Download Blank Template.
Main menu
Use the Main Menu to access Cascade’s reports and key features. The Main Menu includes these sections:
Enter Themes: Opens the Theme Table, where you manage all individuals’ data and CliftonStrengths.
Build Team Reports: Provides quick access to Cascade’s team reports.
Create Individual Reports: Lets you open, print, and save reports for individuals.
On any report page, select Menu in the upper-left corner to return to the Main Menu.
Theme Table
The Theme Table stores all individuals’ data, including their CliftonStrengths. Cascade uses this data to create all reports. Gallup recommends storing all individuals’ data in a single Cascade file, even if they belong to different teams, departments, organizations, or clients.
Note: A Cascade file can include data for a maximum of 2,000 individuals.
To add data to the Theme Table, export CliftonStrengths data from Gallup Access and then use Cascade’s Import Themes feature to upload the file.
After you edit the data, select Reset at the top of the page to reorganize the Theme Table.
Cascade reports overview
Cascade includes a set of team reports and worksheets that help you understand a team’s CliftonStrengths patterns and compare individuals.
Team Grid: The “home base” report. View each team member’s themes, see the team’s strengths at a glance, and filter the team. Most other reports use the same team members and filters you set here.
Theme Frequency: See how often each theme appears across the team, ranked from most to least common.
Theme Spark: View theme prevalence by CliftonStrengths domain (Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, Strategic Thinking) to understand the team’s domain strengths and gaps.
Team Summary: A rollup view that combines key insights from the Team Grid, Theme Frequency, and Theme Spark, plus the team’s top dominant themes.
Team Profiles: Compare up to 16 people’s top five themes and domain distribution side by side.
Theme Comparisons: Compare the themes of up to six team members.
Team Roles and Contributions: A guided worksheet to align team members’ top five themes to roles and contributions (you can add role and contribution details in the Theme Table).
Power of 2: A worksheet for two-person comparisons that highlights theme intersections to support collaboration conversations (also useful as a “Power of Me” worksheet for individuals).
Print and save reports
On every report page, use the buttons at the top of the page to print or save a report:
Print: Opens a print preview so you can print the report.
PDF: Creates a PDF version of the report and saves it to your computer.
Print individual reports for an entire team
In Create Individual Reports, select Whole Team. Cascade uses the individuals you currently filtered on the Team Grid.
Use Print & PDF Preview to choose whether you want to preview reports before printing or saving.
Select Print or PDF for the report you want to print or save.
To make changes before printing, open the report in Cascade first, and then print or save it.
