Cascade relies on Microsoft Excel macros to work properly. Therefore, you must enable macros for Cascade. The following covers the most common examples of macro issues you may encounter.
Windows
The first time you open Cascade on Windows, Excel may display a yellow security warning banner. Click Enable Content to enable macros. A Security Warning window may also appear if you access Cascade from a network location. Click Yes to make the file a Trusted Document.

Alternatively, Excel may display a Security Notice window. Click Enable Macros.

If Excel displays a message that it cannot run a macro, verify that Windows is not blocking the Cascade file.

- Close the Cascade file if it is open.
- Navigate to the Cascade file's location in Windows, right-click the file, and then select Properties.
- At the bottom of the General tab in the file's Properties window, clear the Unblock checkbox.
- Click OK and reopen the Cascade file.

If you open Cascade from an email, Excel may display a red Security Risk banner. To fix this, save the Cascade file to your computer and follow the previous steps to unblock the file.

If none of the previous options resolve your issue, you may need to modify your Excel Trust Center settings.
- In Excel, open the Excel Options window by selecting Options from the File menu.
On the bottom-left side of the Excel Options window, select Trust Center, and then click Trust Center Settings.

The first time you open Cascade on a Mac, a Macros Warning window may appear indicating that the file contains macros. Click Enable Macros.
