What is Code Management?

The Code Management tool in Gallup Access allows you to organize, manage, and distribute CliftonStrengths access codes. Codes are automatically grouped into bundles, and you can transfer codes to other bundles for easier tracking and distribution.

To access this tool, sign in to Gallup Access and select Code Management from the Menu.

CliftonStrengths Code Types

Bundles are organized by the type of access code they contain:

General Access Codes:

  • Top 5 – Unlocks the individual’s Top 5 CliftonStrengths
  • CliftonStrengths 34 – Reveals all 34 strengths
  • Upgrade to 34 – Converts Top 5 or Top 10 results into full 34 (no retake required)

Role-Based Reports:

  • CliftonStrengths for Managers – Reveals Top 10 with manager-specific insights
  • CliftonStrengths for Leaders – Reveals Top 10 with leader-specific insights
  • CliftonStrengths for Sales – Reveals Top 10 with sales-specific insights
  • CliftonStrengths for Students – Reveals Top 5 with student-specific insights

Code Status

Each access code will display one of the following statuses:

Available – Any code that has not been distributed is Available. You can see the total number of Available codes in the bundle.

Pending – A Pending code has been distributed (via email invite or hard-copy CSV file) but has not been redeemed to a Gallup Access account. You can retract Pending codes.

In Progress – In Progress codes have been redeemed to a Gallup Access account, but the assessment has not been completed. The individual may have redeemed the code but not started the assessment, or they may have started the assessment and closed it before completing. You can retract In Progress codes.

Note: If an access code status is In Progress, the individual who redeemed it must sign back in to their Gallup Access account and click the green Begin or Resume assessment button on the Home page. If they try to retype the access code or click the email invitation again, Gallup Access displays an error message stating that the access code has already been redeemed.

Consent Declined – This status indicates the individual did not select that they consent to the CliftonStrengths assessment. If the individual truly meant to decline, you can retract Consent Declined codes. If the individual meant to consent, they need to contact Support directly to have their assessment reset.

Insufficient Data – This status indicates the individual redeemed the code and took the assessment but selected too many neutral responses or skipped too many questions, and there was not enough data to generate strengths results. The individual has the option to retake the assessment from their Home page so they can try to receive results.

Transferred – The individual redeemed the code but transferred their CliftonStrengths from a past assessment completion without getting new products or features. Gallup Access returned the code use to your account, allowing you to distribute it again. Note: Gallup Access will only return a code use if the individual who redeemed the code did not receive any new CliftonStrengths information or products when transferring their past results.

Completed – Assessment completed.
